THE LAW IN PLAIN ENGLISH: POWER OF ATTORNEY

“It’s bad enough I have to come see you, are you saying I need another attorney?” No, well, not really. An enduring power of attorney is a legal document that allows you to designate someone you trust to act on your behalf if you are no longer able to make decisions or lack mental capacity.

A LIVING WILL OR PERSONAL DIRECTIVE IN PLAIN ENGLISH

This is a document that allows you to set out how you want things to occur if you are still living but unable to make decisions. For example, you can set out what types of medical treatments you do or do not wish to receive under such circumstances.

In the unlikely event of an injury or illness, no one needs extra stress. A living will, or personal directive, is a gift to your family and friends, telling them exactly what you want so they don't have the burden of making hard decisions for you when you are unable to make them yourself.Lake Scenic
